GeoSaffer is a family-owned laser cutting workshop in Forrest Hill on Auckland’s North Shore. We cut sheet materials to your design with the accuracy only a laser can give: tight corners, smooth edges and intricate detail that a bandsaw or scroll saw simply can’t match.

Table Numbers
We created these custom table numbers for a client, incorporating their "Wild Flavours" branding and a distinctive stag design. These pieces add a personalised and stylish touch to their dining experience.

Frequently asked questions
What file formats do you need for laser cutting?
Vector files work best: SVG, DXF, AI or PDF with outlines. If you only have a JPEG, PNG or a hand sketch, send it anyway — we can trace and prepare it for you as part of the job.
What thickness can you laser cut?
Most of our work is in sheet material from around 3 mm up to 12 mm, with plywood, MDF and acrylic being the most common. Tell us the material and thickness you have in mind and we’ll confirm what will give the cleanest result.
Do you cut metal?
No — our lasers are set up for wood, acrylic, card, leather and similar materials. For metal we can engrave and mark (see our laser engraving page), and for thicker timber or plastics our CNC router is often the better tool.
How much does laser cutting cost in Auckland?
It depends on material, size, cut length and quantity. Send us your design and dimensions through the quote form and we’ll come back with a firm price — there’s no charge for quoting.
Can you supply the material, or do I bring my own?
Either. We stock common plywood, MDF and acrylic sheets, and we’re happy to cut customer-supplied material once we’ve checked it is laser-safe.
